When you make the decision that I am the right photographer for you, the first step is to sit down together over a glass of wine or a cup of tea and get to know one another. We will meet at my Denver studio, Old Colorado City studio in Colorado Springs or in Juneau, Alaska. This meeting builds the foundation for our relationship and sets the ground work for a great experience while helping me understand your vision for your wedding day.
My couples live all over the globe, so even if you aren't in the local Rocky Mountain region, we can easily chat over Skype or arrange a phone call.
To commission your wedding, a 25% retainer will be required. After we've come to an agreement, we schedule your engagement session; this gives us a chance to get to know each other even better and helps you both learn to feel relaxed in front of my camera. When I show up to your wedding, it will feel like you are working with an old friend.
I want every couple to have a wonderful experience so I work very closely with each bride and groom and will walk beside you throughout the entire process to answer your questions and help you know what to expect. You will receive a pre-wedding questionnaire about 2 months before your wedding and we will meet in person 4-6 weeks before your wedding to review the questionnaire, plan the formal family portraits, perfect your wedding day timeline and make all the final arrangements so you won't have to think about them on your big day.
You make your vows. I will capture epic images. And we will toast to your every happiness. I will take care of documenting your day; from slipping into your dress right up to that last moment where your groomsmen humiliate themselves on the dance floor. And if mother nature decides to cause a little chaos and we are unable to photograph the formal bride & groom only portraits, I guarantee a 1 hour portrait session within 2 weeks of your wedding day at no additional charge! You don't need to worry about a thing!
While you are off being 'honeymooners', I will be busy editing and perfecting the images that illustrate your love story.
Sneak peeks will be sprinkled over Instagram and Facebook and eventually in My Journal. You'll SWOON!
4-6 weeks after your wedding day- your remarkable images will be revealed via an online gallery that you can share with family and friends. Over a glass of bubbly and some decadent chocolates, you two will relive the beauty of your wedding day all over again. You will take a couple weeks to choose your favorites and select the images you can't just leave on a hard drive.
One of the most important steps in the process is to celebrate your images and preserve the memories for generations to come.
In my family, I am the keeper of my family heirlooms and I have the wedding photos of 5 generations in my care. Those images mean more to me than nearly any other earthly possession. Your wedding photos deserve to be held in your future grandchildren's hands and treasured as an anchor for your love within your family tree.
I will walk you through the process of selecting wall art for your home and I will design your wedding album. I offer every bride and groom a one-time coupon to use within 45 days to purchase any additional gifts for your parents, prints for your walls, or any number of little extras to celebrate your beautiful photos. Your love story is a gift your family will cherish and deserves better than to be locked in an obsolete hard drive or lost is a shoe box or drawer.
Services & Investment
I want to be transparent with every potential couple as well as respect your budget and the time you are spending looking at my portfolio. My wedding clients aren't made of money, but they view the investment in their wedding photography as one of the most important expenditures they will be making. They recognize the value in documenting their day for generations to come, knowing that their flowers will fade and the images are what will remain. They want art on their walls and night stands that reflect the depth of their love for one another.
Elopements and intimate weddings (less than 50 guests) start at $2000
Complete wedding coverage starts at $3500.
Most couples plan on spending anywhere between $4500 and $7500 for full wedding coverage.
Every wedding is unique and every single couple comes to the planning with different goals, desires and proposed budgets. For this reason, I create a completely custom wedding proposal for every couple. Your wedding be all yours based on what is most important to you. But don't panic, with hundreds of weddings under my belt, I am here to walk you through this process.
STEP 1- A quick 10-15 minute phone call to help me understand what you are looking for and get to know you a bit better. This is how I will know what you are all about and you and can figure out if my personality and style match well with your own.
STEP 2- We've talked, you've spent some time soaking up my portfolio and chilling on my social media, and you've decided that I'm your girl!
STEP 3- We meet over a glass of wine or cup of coffee at one of my studio locations; downtown Denver, Old Colorado City in the Springs, or in Juneau, Alaska. You tell me what means the most to you and I create a proposal that gives you several options that will be a nice fit for your wedding.
STEP 4- You choose the perfect fit! And we are off to the races!
What You Get For Your Investment
Quality- Luxury wedding photography is always about quality, not quantity. I work with the highest quality professional cameras, lenses, equipment and software to provide the highest quality images possible. I am a professional with over 15 years in the industry and boast over 150 couples that I now consider friends. I was voted 'The Best Photographer' in Alaska's capital in 2015- before I moved back home to Colorado. I have strong relationships with the vendors in the industry and am highly recommended by them and my previous clients. The fine-art prints, wall art and albums I offer are hand made right here in the USA by true professionals that stand behind their work. I am professionally licensed and insured, which is important.
Persona- Maybe you wouldn't consider this when choosing your photographer, but who they are is important. Do the images you see in her portfolio show couples glowing, connecting and enjoying one another? If so, that is the work of a photographer putting them at ease; helping them feel comfortable with one another in front of the camera. Let's be real- that isn't a natural feeling! I nearly panic when I am the one in front of the camera! Without a warm spirit on the other side of the lense, you get images that feel 'pinched' and forced. When you meet your photographer you should feel safe and relaxed; like she can handle the vision you have for your day. I have heard from my clients that I made them feel so at-ease and that their guests and family commented on how they enjoyed my presence at the wedding. That is huge. I may not be everyone's cup of tea but if I am yours- trust your gut!
Experience- Your wedding photographer should provide you with more than nice photos; you should feel that you had a great experience. It is my goal to help you feel heard, understood, supported and valued from the very first day we meet. I want you to have clear expectations and know what's coming up next as we take the journey from engagement to marriage. The way I provide this is by authentic connection and genuine care. Every couple is given a personal 'portal' to have access to all of their important wedding dates, documents, galleries & album designs in one place! I strive to make your photography process easy for you. I am in your corner and I want you to feel that from start to finish.
Honesty- Pinterest has bred an entire culture of 'stylized wedding photography' created to inspire brides when planning their wedding day. The images are perfectly curated, the models pre-selected, and there are no wedding day timelines or real-life moments to interfere with flawless photographs. The work you see on my website is from REAL weddings and portraits captured with real couples and real stories. I rarely have time to focus on editorial work, but when I do, I post those as 'Editorial' work on social media, so my clients don't feel misled.
Personal Touch- In order for many wedding photographers to keep up with their crazy schedules, some outsource their various parts of their workflow to others, outside of their studio. When you hire me to photograph your wedding day; you are getting all of me. Every wedding requires over 25 hours of post processing to create the final product that you will call your own. I personally select every image used, I adjust any details that will make the image a better one and edit them to fit the style and emotion you hired me to provide. Every album is designed from scratch for each couple. And when your final wall art and albums arrive, I deliver them to you myself, when geographically possible.
