The first step is to get to know one another. We can meet at my Denver studio, my Old Colorado City studio in Colorado Springs, or we can arrange a Skype meeting or even a phone call, should you not live in the Rocky Mountain region or your schedule is just too jammed. This meeting builds the foundation for our relationship and sets the ground work for a great experience while helping me understand your vision for your portraits.
To commission your portrait, a 50% retainer will be required. Upon payment of your retainer and a signed portrait agreement, we schedule your session.
I want every client to have a wonderful experience so I will walk beside you throughout the entire process to answer your questions and help you know what to expect. You will receive a pre-session questionnaire about 6 weeks before your session and we will meet in person 3-4 weeks before your wedding to review the questionnaire, plan the session locations, and even help you finalize your wardrobe.
Many of my portrait sessions include professional hair and makeup in the session fee. If not, many of my clients book one of my awesome stylists or schedule one of their own.
3. We Make Magic
You just show up, look gorgeous, and have a great time. I will capture epic images. And we will create some magic at your session. I will lightly coach you, if needed, to help your portraits look the best they can be while we listen to some great music, drink a little bubbly, and enjoy our time together. You don't need to worry about a thing!
Over the next 4-6 weeks, you get to anxiously await the arrival of your final images while I'm busy editing them and making them spectacular!
Sneak peeks will be sprinkled over Instagram and Facebook and eventually in My Journal. You'll SWOON! (For my intimate portrait clients; your images will only be shared if that is something you have agreed to, so no need to worry)!
Your remarkable images will be revealed via an online gallery that you can share with family and friends. In the comfort of your own home you can poor a glass of bubbly and enjoy your first peek at your portraits. You will take a couple weeks to choose your favorites and select the images you can't just leave on a hard drive.
One of the most important steps in the process is to celebrate your images and preserve the memories for generations to come.
I will walk you through the process of selecting wall art for your home and I will design your portrait album. I offer every client a one-time coupon to use within 45 days to purchase any additional gifts, prints for your walls, or any number of little extras to celebrate your beautiful photos. Your story is a treasure and deserves more than to be locked in an obsolete hard drive or lost is a shoe box or drawer.
Services & Investment
I specialize in 'intimate portraiture'. This means that I am about authentic, emotive portraiture; whether it is boudoir, maternity, birth, newborn or seniors. My work is fashion-forward and experience rich. Each of my portrait specialties offers unique all-inclusive packages that provide the fullest experience or you can choose to build your own package using my ala carte portrait menu. I love that the all-inclusive packages include things like professional hair & makeup, session time, digital file ownership with print rights, and print credit toward your wall art or albums. Ala Carte is truly wonderful if you would like to choose exactly what is included in your package and nothing more. My goal is to offer the right portrait opportunity for every person's personality and needs.
Sometimes it can feel like breaking into Fort Knox trying to figure out the fee photographers charge for their services; like it's a state secret or a deep mystery. I want to be transparent with every potential client as well as respect your budget and the time you are spending looking at my portfolio. I would hate it if you fell in love with my work and took the time to connect with me, only to find out my pricing was not within your budget and leave you feeling disappointed, frustrated or potentially embarrassed. Allow me to share the services I offer, some insight into what your investment is giving you, what sets my work apart, as well as give a basic starting point for the cost of commissioning Becoming Images to photograph your portraits.
Every portrait session is unique and every single client comes to the session with different goals, desires and proposed budgets. For this reason, I have created 2 separate options for pricing so that each person can choose exactly what fits them best.
OPTION #1- ALL-INCLUSIVE PORTRAIT COLLECTIONS
I have created 3 all-inclusive portrait packages based on what hundreds of clients before you have found to be the most important to them. This option saves you money, as well. These packages begin at $850 and save your between 20-30% off of ala carte prices, should you love every single thing in the package.
I offer 3 all-inclusive portrait packages for intimate portraiture, maternity & birth, and senior sessions that will all include the following:
Commissioned session time
Professional editing of your images
Guidance on your portrait session and styling.
Edited digital files with printing rights, delivered via digital download.
60 day online gallery to share with family and friends.
Style Guide catalog with guidance on how to style your portraits for gifts or in your home in a tasteful way that will adapt with your lives.
Access to my online wall gallery designer to view framed photos to scale on your own walls.
A custom app for your smartphone, tablet or computer
A rain-clause: should Mother Nature choose to unleash a little chaos on your session date, there is not charge for rescheduling within 30 days.
Actual albums, products or print credit toward prints or albums
OPTION #2- ALA CARTE PORTRAIT PACKAGES
Build your completely customized portrait session from my ala carte price menu and choose only the things that mean the most to you! 2 hour portrait sessions start out at $500.
My average portrait client chooses a package somewhere around $1200 but we can do more or less- it's all up to you.
If these numbers work with yours, the next step is to arrange a time to talk and get to know one another.
I am happy to send over my lovely 'Portrait Guide'- which explains everything I offer in detail along with all of my prices. Simply pop over to my contact page and complete the online form. I will e-mail over your guide within 24 hours!
What You Get For Your Investment
Quality- Professional portraiture is always about quality, not quantity. I work with the highest quality professional cameras, lenses, equipment and software to provide the highest quality images possible. I am a professional with over 12 years in the industry and boast over 3000 clients that I now consider friends. I was voted 'The Best Photographer' in Alaska's capital in 2015- before I moved back home to Colorado. I am highly recommended by those who have worked with me, many using me exclusively for all of their family's portrait needs. The fine-art prints, wall art and albums I offer are hand made right here in the USA by true professionals that stand behind their work. I am professionally licensed and insured, which is important.
Persona- Maybe you wouldn't consider this when choosing your photographer, but who they are is important. Do the images you see in her portfolio show people glowing, connecting and enjoying one another? If so, that is the work of a photographer putting them at ease; helping them feel comfortable in front of the camera. Let's be real- that isn't a natural feeling! I nearly panic when I am the one in front of the camera! Without a warm spirit behind the camera, you get images that feel 'pinched' and forced. When you meet your photographer you should feel safe and relaxed; like she can handle the vision you have for your session. I have heard from my clients that I made them feel so at-ease and that I helped that have fun while being photographed. That is huge. I may not be everyone's cup of tea but if I am yours- trust your gut!
Experience- Your photographer should provide you with more than nice photos; you should feel that you had a great experience. It is my goal to help you feel heard, understood, supported and valued from the very first day we meet. I want you to have clear expectations and know what's coming up next as we take this journey. The way I provide this is by authentic connection and genuine care. Every client is given a personal 'portal' to have access to all of their important dates, documents, galleries & album designs in one place! I strive to make your photography process easy for you. I am in your corner and I want you to feel that from start to finish.
Honesty- Pinterest has bred an entire culture of 'stylized photography' created to inspire people with gorgeous images. The images are perfectly curated, the models pre-selected, and there are no timelines or real-life moments to interfere with flawless photographs. The work you see on my website is from REAL portraits captured with real people and real stories. I have every intention of sharing any stylized work that I do, but I will post those as 'Editorial' work in my portfolio so my clients don't feel misled.
Personal Touch- In order for many photographers to keep up with their crazy schedules, some outsource their various parts of their workflow to others, outside of their studio. When you hire me as your photographer; you are getting all of me. Every portrait session requires between 9-15 hours of post processing to create the final product that you will call your own. I personally select every image used, I adjust any details that will make the image a better one and edit them to fit the style and emotion you hired me to provide. Every album is designed from scratch for each couple. And when your final wall art and albums arrive, I deliver them to you myself (if you live on the front range of the Rockies).
